I did a painting and called it “I Love Dogs, Agility and Gelato”.  My inspiration happened as I learned there were two international agility events taking place in Italy in 2015 and the US was sending AKC and USDAA teams to each event. Wow! I’d been there before as a supporter and I’d had a taste of both events but not in the same year.  I knew there would be incredible agility, awesome dogs, and plenty of gelato consumption!

The woman in the painting is part of my Mama Series, the difference is she’s tossed her skateboard aside and is with her dog, enjoying all the goodies that come with being in Italy; cappuccino, gelato, historical sights, delicious food.  She’s you and me, competitor, supporter and loving the challenges that come with the sport. The peace symbol and dove are the spirit of these games: there’s the dancing, exchanging of shirts and uniforms, the passion for dogs and agility and how by day three of world agility events we become one; we just want to live life in peace, enjoy each other, our dogs and have good fun!

On September 6, 2017 Hurricane Irma, category 7, destroyed our home and all the art, including this painting.  This fun piece can be brought back to life, reproduced and printed on canvas.
